The superyacht Check survey is not a requirement, however before one would spend millions on a
yacht, it is highly advisable to know the real condition of the yacht.
There are many machinery items on board which can breakdown if not maintained properly, which
could cost a lot of money and unscheduled downtime. Dirty airducts or poorly maintained potable
water systems can also cause an unhealthy environment.
Our aim is to complete the on-board inspection within 3 days and have the report ready within 2 days after completion of the inspection.
Partly yes, however, for a full inspection, the yacht needs to be in the water and able to go for a sea trial.
Inspections do not come with a warranty. The purpose of the inspection is to give the client an honest and true reflection of the state of the superyacht.
During yacht shows it is not possible. After the show it could be possible to start the inspection, considering we need to organize our team, a diver’s company, and engine manufacture technician. Typically, we can start an inspection within a week after signing the contract.
No. we are not involved with the sale. Brokers do recommend us, as it in the interest of the broker to make sure the client is aware of the true condition of the yacht. Professional brokers are not looking for a quick sale but a long-term relationship. After all, there will be a point you will sell your yacht and buy another one.
Yes, the current owner or yacht management company must give permission for the inspection. The captain must also be informed as a sea trial is an important part of the inspection.
We make a complete report of the actual state of the yacht. Typically, this is a pre-purchase, but it is also for the yacht owner who wants to know the real condition of his/her own yacht.
Some (yacht broker) companies offer a similar service; however, we are the only independent company who is specialist in superyacht pre-purchase inspections. It is not a side job; it is our only job. As we are not involved with the sale, you can rely on receiving an unbiased and professional report.
The survey is customized to each client’s requirements. As a guideline, we charge 3K per day for the survey on board, plus travel and lodging. Engine manufacture technician and/or divers are charged extra. The time it takes to make the report is included.
On average we can start within a week, this does depend on the location and our availability. but also if a local diver company and a qualified engine manufacture’s technician are required, depending on the depth of the survey.
The final report is sent to the client via E-mail in a PDF format as soon as the report is completed. For clarity, the report comes with pictures of defects we exposed. This report is private and confidential but may be used to negotiate the purchase price.
